Patty Lyons, Principal of Concord School
Welcome to Principal Patty’s Page!
I would like to share a little bit about myself and my vision for Concord School. My History: I was the youngest of seven children in a hard-working, blue collar family. I had four children by the time I was twenty-one years old. Life was not handed to me, my husband, or my children on a silver spoon. I knew that a good education was my ticket out of poverty and onto good citizenship. As soon as my youngest child was in kindergarten, I began college. Raising four children, working to make ends meet, and squeezing in time to study was often overwhelming, but I stayed focused on my goal: to be a principal. There were many hurdles that got in the way along my journey, but I proved to many people that it doesn’t matter where you’ve come from, it just matters where you are going! Don’t be afraid to aim for the stars when you dream your life dreams. You are the author of your life story! My Education: I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Furman University where I earned my M.A. in Educational Leadership, Supervision, and Evaluation. I have been the recipient of several awards, including the Golden Apple Award. I have held many leadership roles throughout my career in both education and the world of business. My Vision for Concord School: I believe that each student at Concord should have opportunities for individual success in a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment that instills the desire to learn. I am committed to a progressive approach to education that strives for individual excellence in our rapidly changing technological world. My Heart: My heart and soul are committed to seeing Concord School not only succeed, but excel! |
